Indian Mission in Singapore Hosts Health Outreach for 200 Women
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review Team | Wednesday, 19 August 2026
The Indian High Commission in Singapore organized an outreach program for around 200 Indian women workers under the government’s ‘One Stop Centre’ initiative. Held on 16 August, the program focused on women’s health and financial safety, offering health screenings and consultations on secure financial transactions. The initiative also aimed to improve awareness among Indian women workers about the support available through the High Commission while they live and work in Singapore.
Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule encouraged the women to approach High Commission officials whenever they face difficulties or require assistance. He also advised them to use formal banking channels for financial transactions and remain alert to the growing risk of scams. The mission emphasized the importance of women being aware of available support and seeking timely assistance when dealing with concerns during their employment in Singapore.
The High Commission said on 19 August that the health screening was designed to encourage regular medical check-ups among Indian women workers, many of whom are employed as domestic helpers and caregivers. Shilpak also acknowledged the contribution of community organizations in supporting the One Stop Centre’s outreach efforts. The program brought together health support, financial guidance and community engagement, strengthening the mission’s efforts to connect with Indian women working in Singapore.
