The India U17 women's national team had a 0–2 setback against Bangladesh in their third fixture of the SAFF U19 Women's Championship 2026 being held at Pokhara Rangasala Stadium in Pokhara, Nepal.

Bangladesh's two first-half goals were recorded in the 30th minute by Arpita Biswas, followed by Alpi Akter's 40th minute effort. As part of preparations for the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup to be held later this year, India's U17 squad is competing at the U19 tournament.

Head coach Pamela Conti made two changes to the starting eleven that won against Nepal 1-0 last time out. In midfield, Thandamoni Baskey took over from Anushka Kumari, while Pritika Barman replaced Valaina Fernandes as the starting forward.

India started the game on a good note, generating several good chances. Elizabed Lakra had a chance to score with a free-kick that required Mst Yearzan Begum's intervention at the beginning of the match, while Pritika Barman nearly converted when through on goal from a pass from Captain Julan Nongmaithem. Alva Devi Senjam also had a good scoring opportunity early in the game that required a save as well.

Bangladesh established itself as a threat to Indian football parties in its tournament debut by scoring the first goal through Arpita Biswas after a pass from Mamoni Chakma in the 29th minute. Arpita got an assist from Mamoni on that play, and then assisted on Alpi Akter's goal in the first half.

While India struggled to create scoring opportunities in the second half, Bangladesh continued to put pressure on Indian defenders, creating opportunities to score from inside and outside the box. As a result, Bangladesh ended the match as the victorious party with a score of 2-0.
