The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for South Africa's visit to India which includes three T20Is, numerous ODIs, and a women's Test match on Tuesday. From June 16 to July 9, 2024, India will host the South African women's team in a multi-format series. The T20Is and one-off Test will be held in Chennai, while the one-dayers will be played in Bengaluru.

The Test cricket between the two teams will be competed after nearly a decade as the first women's Test match was held in 1976.

In June, the Indian women's team will play a Test match in their home series against South Africa against South Africa, following their hosting of England and Australia in Mumbai last year. The home series will begin with ODIs in Bengaluru as a part of the 2022-2025 ICC Women's Championship, followed by a one-off Test and three T20Is at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk in Chennai, marking India's third Test in six months and South Africa's third Test ever.
