India will begin its campaign against Canada on November 29 at the Field Hockey Sports Centre, National Stadium, Santiago, Chile, before taking on Germany on 30 November as a part of Pool C of the FIH Junior Women's World Cup 2023.
On 2 December 2023, the Indian female team will compete against Belgium in their final pool match. On December 10, the World Cup final will be played.
The Indian team will enter the competition only after winning the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 in Japan in June this year. The team hopes to clinch the trophy in the maiden tournament.
In the most recent FIH Junior Women's World Cup, India was close to grabbing the bronze medal but unfortunately failed England in the third-place playoff.
Preeti, the captain of the winning team of Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 expressed her joy to see the Pools of the World Cup.
Coach of the Indian Junior Women's Team Harvinder Singh stated about the excitement of the team and other members despite having the historical win in Japan. He further said that the team is aware of some areas that need to be improved and currently they are working on it in order to grab the prestigious Junior Women's World Cup in Chile.
