Today on January 26, 2024, India is observing the 75th Republic Day in respect of the country's 1950 adoption of the Constitution. The Republic Day Parade, which will highlight India's diverse culture, accomplishments, and strength of the military, will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The event's chief guest, French President Emmanuel Macron, will highlight the close diplomatic ties that exist between France and India.

Republic Day in India commemorates the transition from a constitutional monarchy to a republic, granting citizens self-governance. It symbolizes the values of democracy, justice, liberty, and equality, reflecting progress and renewing commitment to democratic principles. Over 8,000 security personnel in New Delhi have been preparing for Republic Day celebrations, under the watchful eye of Deputy Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla.

The day begins with the national flag being officially unfurled at 7:30 a.m., followed by the national anthem. The event honors women farmers and includes a variety of tableaux, textile structures, commemorative items, cultural competitions, and a women-centric parade that is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM.

The Indian Air Force will perform a stunning flypast during the Republic Day celebrations of 2024, showcasing the nation's air prowess. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the At-Home Function, NCC Rally, and Beating Retreat ceremony following the R-Day celebrations. An online competition on MyGov will highlight the sacrifices and patriotism of soldiers, adding an interactive element to the festivities.
