Inclusive Growth in Focus as Kalpana Soren Heads to WEF

Kalpana Murmu Soren, Gandey MLA, is set to visit the United Kingdom for high-level conversation building on momentum from the World Economic Forum (WEF). The agenda will focus on education forum, climate funding, and outreach with UK leaders, scholars, and the Indian community.
On a global policy circuit, Kalpana represents Jharkhand at WEF Davos 2026 and during the State’s official engagements win the United Kingdoms. At Davos, Kalpana will shape global conversations on inclusive and women-led development through key international platforms and official sessions at the India Pavilion.
As it celebrates a quarter-century of formation, Jharkhand will make its WEF debut, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren leading an 11-member team. The team will present State’s women-driven livelihood model connecting 35 lakh women through 2.8 lakh self-help groups supported by ₹5,000 crore in credit. Powered by women-led initiatives, schemes like PALASH and JOHAR, thousands of women are earning over ₹1L and strengthen financial security via the ₹17,000 cr Maiyaan Samman Yojana.
Kalpana entered politics during trying times and won the Gandey seat after that. She has always supported women-centric development in line with Jharkhand’s vision of inclusive growth of women. Currently, Kalpana is Chairperson of Women & Child Development Committee in the Jharkhand Assembly.
