
ICC Women's Cricket WC 2025 Sees Five-Fold Surge in Viewership

The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 has experienced a massive increase in viewership; five times that of the 2022 tournament. According to information released by the ICC and JioHotstar, the first 13 matches of the tournament have been viewed by more than 60 million viewers.
This increase the popularity of women's cricket and the effect of cooperation among the ICC, JioStar, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), JioStar added. Overall watch time has been seven billion minutes — a twelve-fold increase compared to the last World Cup.
India–Pakistan match on 5th October shattered records, gaining a viewership of 28.4 million and 1.87 billion minutes of view, which is the largest-watched women's international cricket match ever. The match also became the highest-rated league-stage match in ICC Women's ODI World Cup history.
Also, the India–Australia game on October 12 had 4.8 million peak concurrent views on JioHotstar — an all-time record for women's cricket.
The first 11 matches, which included India's games against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and South Africa, had 72 million viewers, which were up by 166 percent from the last edition. Views grew by 327 percent to 6.3 billion, reflecting the growth of women's cricket fans.
Siddharth Sharma, Viewership and Monetisation Initiatives Head (Sports) at JioStar, stated the high viewership levels show the increasing passion for women's sports in India. He further stated that JioStar is keen to be a part of this revolution, driving inclusive sports entertainment at scale.
JioStar owns the television broadcasting rights of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 under the JioStar Network and the digital streaming rights under JioHotstar.
