India's innovation ecosystem is also seeing a rising wave of women entrepreneurship, best explained through the recent onset of STEMPlay Labs, an ed-tech startup founded out of Chennai.

Led by Aditi Prasad, an international STEM education leader, the venture hopes to establish play as the bedrock of learning for the future. Promoting the ideology of "Swadeshi 2.0," STEMPlay Labs produces Made-in-India, screen-free STEM toys for children all over the globe.

As a launch product, the company introduced Wonder Briks™, patent-pending side-locking build construction bricks that promote imagination and free-form STEM play, and PictoMath™, a picture math card game that tests kids and grown-ups. Both products are engineered to keep developing with the child, providing long-term learning value.

The mission of the company is centered on four pillars: screen-free learning to encourage creativity and bonding with family, hands-on learning to ignite curiosity, development of skills to enhance logical thinking and teamwork, and Made in India, Global in Vision to merge local design with international standards.

STEMPlay Labs is indicative of the growing presence of women entrepreneurs in India, especially in Tamil Nadu, where almost 49 percent of endorsed startups are started or co-started by women.

The founder Aditi, a previously legal academic and now an ed-tech founder, has a B.S.L LL.B from Indian Law Society and an M.P.P at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

She has spoken at TEDx, been a keynote speaker at the UNESCO Policy Forum, and was acknowledged by the Government of Singapore as one of twenty Young Societal Leaders in the world.

Aditi also founded Indian Girls Code, an initiative to empower young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to make choices to pursue fulfilling careers in STEM.

STEMPlay Labs aims to harness Indian ingenuity and marry that with global standards to foster development of 21st century skills and create women-led educational innovations.
