The University of Wollongong is hosting its annual Entrepreneurial Women's Breakfast, hosted by iAccelerate, to celebrate women in technology. The event, titled "Leaders in Tech," will feature trailblazing women from both national and international tech industries who will share their stories and journeys to inspire and encourage other female entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurial Women's Breakfast: Leaders in Tech, hosted by iAccelerate, will empower and inspire female tech industry founders and leaders on May 9, 2024, at the Breakout Space, iAccelerate Centre, a part of the Innovation Campus in North Wollongong.
iAccelerate, the University of Wollongong's business incubator, is renowned for fostering female entrepreneurs, with over 53 per cent of its companies having active female founders, surpassing national and international standards. The event will feature a panel discussion featuring accomplished tech women discussing career strategies, and insights on overcoming challenges, leveraging innovation, and navigating entrepreneurship and technology. Panelists include Rebecca Duldig, Susan Zhang, Dr. Sheridan Gho, and Christine Higgins.
Dr Tamantha Stutchbury, Director of iAccelerate, emphasized the company's efforts in order to increase women's representation in the tech industry, challenging the prevailing male-dominated narrative. She mentioned, "Technology and gender diversity are both fundamental themes at iAccelerate. The ultimate aim is to increase the representation of female entrepreneurs and establish Illawarra as a prominent place to develop the tech start-ups."
