Hockey Jharkhand wins 15th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2025

Hockey Jharkhand won the 15th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2025, defeating defending champions Hockey Haryana in a thrilling final. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but Jharkhand secured the victory with a 4-3 penalty shootout win, due to goalkeeper Anjali Bhinjia's stellar saves. The match was tightly contested, with both teams scoring goals in Panchkula, Haryana.

The opening possession was dominated by Hockey Haryana, whereas Hockey Jharkhand could not convert their penalty corner in the first quarter. The second quarter saw neck-to-neck competition as both teams secured penalty corners, but could not convert them, remaining goalless.

The third quarter, Hockey Haryana's Rani converted a penalty corner in the 42nd minute, however, Hockey Jharkhand promptly replied with a field goal. Hockey Haryana's defensive efforts were compromised when Promodni Lakra capitalized on a missed opportunity, snatching the ball past the keeper.

In the final quarter, both teams played aggressively, with Hockey Haryana's Rani nearly scoring a goal but missing. The game went into a nail-biting shootout, with Hockey Jharkhand winning 4-3. Pinki, Annu, and Manisha scored, but Hockey Jharkhand's keeper Anjali Bhinjia made two saves.

Hockey Mizoram won the bronze medal in the 3rd/4th place match against Hockey Maharashtra, securing the victory with a heroic goal from Manju Chorsiya in the 59th minute.
