Gujarat Is Safest Indian State for Women: Harsh Sanghavi

- The comments were made based on the perceived variations in culture from other places
During the inauguration of the Gandhinagar North Premier League 2026, the deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi highlighted how “safe” women have been living in Gujarat,, India for some time now.
While delivering his speech, Harsh reiterated the governmental commitment to keeping all citizens safe, particularly providing additional protection for women.
He gave concrete examples of how Gujarat (with support from local women) creates a safe environment and supports women participating in community social events, such as celebrating Navratri festival, and many other community social functions.
He establish credit for Gujarat as a safe place for women to live, and challenge any questions regarding women's safety and creditability for living in Gujarat by voting in the upcoming municipal elections on April 26.
The State Election Commission will assist with logistics in the setup and conduct of municipal elections, to include 15 municipal corporations, and multiple panchayat elections, and an estimated 4,190,000 registered voters will vote in the Municipal Election.
Harsh said that young athletes from Gujarat are an important component of helping develop socialisation within the community; nation; and being part of Gujarat's identity to help ensure Gujarat remains a viable location for a much longer time beyond current history. After his presentation, Harsh participated in a few overs of a cricket match on the field.
