Gujarat and Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat felicitated 48 outstanding women achievers at the 'She Talks Awards 2025', held in Rohtak on Wednesday. The event was jointly organized by the Tribune Group of Publications and the Haryana Press Club to celebrate the contributions of women across diverse fields.
Among the honored were international boxing champions Jaismeen Lamboria, Meenakshi Hooda, Nupur Sheoran, and Pooja Bohra; badminton prodigy Unnati Hooda; wrestler Ritika Hooda; mountaineer Reena Bhati; and fitness coach Nikita Garg. Their achievements in sports, education, science, administration, and fitness were highlighted as inspiring examples of determination and excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Devvrat underscored the importance of adopting a sattvic and balanced lifestyle, urging doctors present at the event to guide patients towards healthy diets and disciplined routines. He expressed concern over the youth's increasing reliance on fast food, linking it to health complications and negative behavioral changes, while noting that pure living fosters qualities such as compassion and non-violence.
He noted, "The primary cause of rising illness is imposter diets. Impure foods lead to violence and unethical behavior, while those who consume a sattvic diet tend to have pure thoughts and develop qualities like compassion, non-violence, and altruism."
Governor Acharya Devvrat voiced concern over the rising consumption of fast food among youth, warning that the chemicals used in such foods were as harmful as intoxicants. He urged young people to move away from junk food, late-night habits, and dependence on restaurant meals, emphasizing the value of simple, home-cooked food that is compatible with one’s body.
The event was attended by Congress MLA B.B. Batra, former ministers Krishan Murti Hooda and Subhash Batra, along with senior academicians and medical leaders, including Dr. H.K. Agrawal, Prof. S.K. Singhal, Dr. Kundan Mittal, Prof. Rajbir Singh, and Dr. Amit Arya.
