Pinkathon, India's biggest women's run is coming back to Mumbai on December 21 with a theme of breast cancer awareness and preventive health.
The Mumbai event is starting a six-city tour in nine months, including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Delhi. Zydus Lifesciences Ltd has become the title sponsor this year.
The 10th version of Pinkathon will have various categories such as 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km community runs and ultra-distance versions of 50 km, 75 km, 100 km and 100 km relay.
Pinkathon founder Milind Soman stated that the initiative looks to get women to focus on their health and fitness while providing support to each other. He added that Zydus's association would aid in this purpose by getting women to take up regular exercise, beginning with running.
Dr Sharvil Patel, the Managing Director of Zydus Lifesciences, stated that the company's Easiest Exam campaign stresses the significance of a straightforward three-minute monthly self-check for early breast cancer diagnosis.
He further stated that with the tie-up with Pinkathon, efforts are to reach out to more people, spread awareness on women's health, and stress the importance of early detection in saving lives.
