Goa Empowers Women Entrepreneurs with Rs 365 Crore Credit Boost to SHGs

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant introduced on July 1 in Panaji that a credit score linkage of ₹365 crore to Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Goa has enabled thousands of girls to release small groups and service-primarily based ventures. Speaking at a bankers' conclave organised by means of the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM), Pramod recommended the important position of financial establishments in helping SHGs.

He mentioned that in the 2024–2025 economic years alone, SHGs inside the country received over ₹365 crore in credit score, which helped ladies engage in entrepreneurship, farming, and services. Emphasizing the importance of credit linkage—connecting SHGs with formal banking channels—the Chief Minister entreated banks to simplify mortgage get right of entry to and enhance guide in areas like digital literacy, economic cognizance, and business abilities.

Pramod highlighted that greater than 3,250 SHGs fashioned with GSRLM’s support have impacted over 43,000 households throughout Goa. He defined SHGs as symbols of resilience and empowerment, announcing they represent actual girls remodeling their lives and groups.

As a part of the Swayampurna Goa Mission, he shared that one hundred seventy girls-led SHGs have been empanelled underneath the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, with 14 canteens now operational in government workplaces. These canteens no longer only serve hygienic meals but additionally provide steady earnings to rural women’s.

“SHGs are not just monetary devices; they're testimonies of courage, hope, and self-reliance,” Pramod said, reinforcing the government’s commitment to girls-led improvement and inclusive boom.
