Flipkart Big Billion Days is one of the most anticipated and largest online shopping festivals in India. It is an annual event hosted by Flipkart, one of the country's leading e-commerce platforms. The Big Billion Days sale typically spans several days and offers customers a plethora of discounts, deals, and offers on a wide range of products, including electronics, fashion, home appliances, mobile phones, and more.

This year The Big Billion Days (TBBD) sale event, will take place from September 23 to September 30, 2023. The e-commerce giant has plans to create more than 100,000 new jobs throughout its pan-India supply chain. These positions will be offered in a variety of locations, including fulfillment centers, sorting facilities, and delivery hubs. Flipkart wants to hire a diverse workforce, including women, people with disabilities (PWDs), local Kirana delivery partners, and others. The upcoming TBBD event will be its tenth iteration overall since it first debuted in 2014.

The Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and ReCommerce, Hemant Badri, of the Flipkart Group, mentioned the necessity of scaling up various supply chain components, such as capacity, storage, sorting, packaging, and human resources, to meet the complexity and scope of TBBD. He stated that, through the Kirana delivery program, the company intends to deliver more than 40 per cent of shipments this year.

Flipkart has enhanced its supply chain infrastructure significantly so far. These facilities are located primarily in Tier 3 cities like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Punjab. Flipkart offers specialized skill-enhancing initiatives to equip its workforce with the abilities required for technology-driven supply chains. These initiatives cover supply chain procedures, technological tools, and mobile applications.
