Dr. Renu Swarup joins Global Advisory Board of Bugworks Research Inc.

Dr. Renu Swarup is a former Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with an experience of more than 30 years of service. Dr. Renu oversaw the establishment of the National Biotechnology Vision in 2001, the National Biotechnology Development Strategy in 2007, and Strategy ll, 2015-20, as a Member Secretary of the Expert Committee.
The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) which is a public sector firm has been founded by Dr. Renu with a vision of supporting Startups and SMEs.
She has supported more than 5000 start-ups and almost 500 small businesses to pursue innovative research and product development by helping the biotechnology translation research and industry-academia partnerships. She also belongs to the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI).
Dr. Renu as a member of the Prime Minister's Scientific Advisory Committee's task force on women in science and also a part of The Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World has enthusiastically given support to women scientists. She was also a key supporter of DBT's response to develop technology-based solutions to overcome COVID-19 in India.
