- The chief minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, launched the “Saksham Yatra 2026” yesterday
- This project is centered around encouraging innovation at the grass-root level and budding entrepreneurs
- The yatra will end at New Delhi on April 12
Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the "Saksham Yatra 2026" - a national initiative to provide aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to demonstrate their innovative ideas, products, and skills while developing a network of contacts and resources that will help them grow their businesses.
The initiative will include a nine-day tour of various cities in India from New Delhi to Ayodhya, Lucknow, Mathura, Agra, and Jaipur, culminating back at New Delhi on April 12, 2026.
As a way to connect and build community through experiential learning, participants in each city will be given the opportunity to interact with other entrepreneurs, including a "hands-on" demo and instructional time.
The program will be led by entrepreneur Ajay Gupta, who also has a locomotor disability stemming from developing polio at a young age. Ajay is involved with a number of local and national educational and social programs.
Innovative ideas are supposed to be discovered through community engagements in the course of the event. The yatra will help people who are engaged in the process of solving problems and providing practical solutions to them get visibility.
Saksham Yatra has been associated with 'Kamyab Grants', a program that provides mentorship and non-equity funding to startups. The focus of this program will be on sectors like ed-tech, preschool education, and innovations that include people with disabilities.
The event is going to ensure connections between innovations from small cities to various sources of opportunities. This way the organizers will broaden the scope of the Indian startup ecosystem by reaching beyond its limits.
