CM Rekha Gupta Hails Budget as a Vision of Modis Leadership

- She thanked PM Modi and FM Nirmala Sitharaman for the people-centric budget
- Also addressed the media a day after the budget announcement
After the presentation of the Budget in the Parliament on February 1st, 2026, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed her views regarding the Union Budget, at a news conference held at the Delhi Secretariat.
The Chief Minister said that she would like to thank the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for presenting a budget that is people-centric, and this budget will help in the growth and development of all sections of society.
CM Rekha further said that, she is of the opinion that this budget will prove that the Prime Minister has strong leadership qualities and will help him achieve his vision of a 'Developed and Self-Reliant' India.
She said that this budget can give hope and confidence to all Indians that our economy is strong, and we will be able to fulfill the aspirations of all sections of society and move ahead with the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
She stated that this year, there is an increase of Rs 13,000 crore in the budget allocation for central government schemes, which will be of advantage to the people of Delhi. In addition, Delhi will receive its fair share of the Rs 232 crore allocated among 3 states under Central Sector Schemes.
She also stated that the budget provides for increased support to all the central hospitals, including the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and for increased support towards education and the environment.
CM also pointed out the increase in budgeted funds for sports that will help the young people of Delhi, as well as the budget provisions for projects using green energy; incentive programmers for electric vehicles; and tax relief for electric battery manufacturing equipment and machinery. The allocation for small traders will also help small businesses in Delhi and will total Rs 10,000 crore.
