CII IWN Launches 'Aatral' for Women Entrepreneurs

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Indian Women Network (IWN), Madurai Chapter has already initiated ‘Aatral’ a flagship program which aims to empower women entrepreneurs by providing them with structured mentoring, networking and business development support for 11 months. The program aims to support women-led businesses to grow in a sustainable way by offering participants expert guidance, peer learning opportunities and business management skills.
The program was launched at Madurai on Tuesday in the presence of CII- Indian Women Network members and industry leaders and entrepreneurs. Aatral has been created as a complete mentoring platform to help and empower aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs to build their business and enhance their leadership skills, says a CII IWN Madurai press release.
In his keynote speech, G. Natchiar, Founding Member of the Aravind Eye Care System, urged all the participants to take the path of entrepreneurship with confidence and resilience. She drew on her career experiences to speak about leadership, innovation and long-term success, and emphasized the need for a purpose led approach to entrepreneurship and ongoing learning in developing long-term enterprises.
Devadoss Multispeciality Hospital (DMH) Managing Director and Convenor, CII Indian Women Network Madurai Chapter, Hema Sathish welcomed the participants and explained the purpose of the initiative. The program has been developed to connect women entrepreneurs with experienced mentors, industry professionals, and networking opportunities to navigate and address business challenges and secure sustainable growth, she said.

She also said that Aatral would be a good platform to train and groom the next generation of successful women business leaders from Madurai to help them grow their businesses with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need.
IWN Entrepreneurship Vertical Lead Sharmila Devi, Founder of SevenClover Coaching Services, and Co-Lead Elamathi Arul, Director of Green Fem Producer Company exhorted the participants to make the best use of the program during the launch itself. They said that Aatral is a platform aimed at empowering, enabling and elevating women entrepreneurs, and providing them an environment where they can collaborate, innovate and excel in their business.
Several other industry leaders also spoke at the event including Rajiv S. Jeyabalan, Chairman of CII Madurai Zone & Managing Director, Susee Finance and Leasing, Kalyani Ramanathan, Co-Lead, Entrepreneurship, IWN Madurai, Managing Partner, Sree Vinayaga Screens, and Visalakshi Kannan, Co-Convenor, CII Indian Women Network Madurai Chapter, Director, VTM. They emphasized the importance of the role played by women entrepreneurs in the economic development and the contribution of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the Indian economy. They also highlighted the importance of enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing women entrepreneurs with mentorship, financial inclusion, market access, and capacity building programs.
The Aatral program will run for 11 months, consisting of mentoring sessions, workshops delivered by expert practitioners, networking opportunities, and business development modules. They will be given tips on crucial areas of entrepreneurship such as business strategy, leadership, financial management, marketing and enterprise growth. The program is designed to empower women entrepreneurs to create a sustainable and scalable business while developing a network of mentors and peers, said CII IWN Madurai.
The launch occurred at the time of the Indian Women Network (IWN) under Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which is the Confederation's initiative to develop, support and encourage women's leadership, entrepreneurship and economic participation in India through mentoring, skill building, networking and advocacy programs.
