In the Uber Cup, Indian women lost 0-5 in their last Group A match against the formidable China women's badminton team. In the first opening single match, Isharani Baruah faced Chen Yufei, the present Olympic champion. Isharani gave a tough competition but unfortunately lost in straight games, 21-12, 21-10.
Isharani said, "A little disappointment in my game because I made too many errors, I thought I would play well with her but it was an easy win for her...the pace was high, and I had to increase my speed." Shruti Mishra and Priya Konjengbam competed against Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan, the Olympic silver medalists, in the women's doubles. However, the Indian duo lost in 45 minutes, losing 21-13 and 21-12.
The young player who made a buzz at the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships, Anmol Kharb had to withdraw from the second singles match against Han Yue due to an ankle injury. In the Doubles Match 2, India lost 21-9, 21-10 led by Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker competing against Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning. Furthermore, in the Singles Match 3, despite giving strong competition, 15-year-old Tanvi Sharma ultimately fell with scores of 21-7, 21-16 against the far more seasoned player Eang Zhivi. Despite these defeats, the Indian women's team has qualified for the quarter-finals after defeating Canada and Singapore after PV Sindhu's withdrawal from the competition.
