Centre for Women & Gender Studies branch inaugurated by Techno India University

Techno India University, one of the leading institutions inaugurated its Centre For Women & Gender Studies at Saltlake Campus. TIU is the largest education hub situated in Eastern India. In accordance to promote gender equity and ensure women's empowerment, the centre opened this new branch.

The centre was officially opened by Professor Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, Ms Urmimala Bose, a famous elocutionist, and Ms Moupia Nandy, Deputy Editor of a renowned Bengali news channel.

A panel discussion was held on the topic "Innovation in Education in the Digital Age for Achieving Gender Equality" which was participated by notable dignitaries including, Prof. Bani Basu, Ms Urmimala Bose, Ms Moupia Nandy, Deputy Editor - Zee 24 Ghanta and Dr Maria Fernandes, Vice Chairperson, WBFDC & Member, West Bengal Commission for Women.

Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group expressed her views to commemorate the occasion, she stated about the 'Centre for Women and Gender Studies' that this centre will help and support the initiative of empowering women and the world. They will provide interdisciplinary studies that address multiple issues faced by women in society. Promote sustainable development, and women's empowerment through knowledge and awareness. This initiative will also build interpersonal and leadership qualities in women.

Techno India University ensures that they will provide equal access to opportunities and resources to all genders they should have as a basic human right. The course will have 3-year graduation to be covered in 6 semesters. Eligibility to pursue the course will be 12 passes from any stream.
