Budgam's District Hub for Women's Empowerment Hosts One-Day Awareness Programme

A women's empowerment awareness workshop was held today at B.K.Pora in Budgam by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti), in association with the J&K Women Development Cooperation.

The District Social Welfare Officer and Chairman of the District Development Commission, Dr. Syed Farhana Asgar, oversaw the organisation of the programme.

The Afroza District Mission Coordinator started by bringing attention to a number of women-specific programmes, including BBBP, JSY, Ladli Beti, PMMVY, Mumkin, Tajeswani, Cutting and Tailoring, Revised Marriage Assistance Scheme, JKNRLM, One Stop Centre for Women, Shelter Home, and WHL 181 among others.

Gender expert Asifa Manzoor described the various forms of violence that are pervasive in society. The prevalence of sexual violence and methods of obtaining assistance when it occurs were heavily emphasised. Contact The participants were given the phone numbers for child-line, WHL 181, DHEW, OSC, Women Squad, and Special Cell for Women and Children so they could call for assistance if they ever experienced or saw any type of violence.

The group also talked about stalking and cybercrime-related issues. They also talked on how to stop such incidents from happening. The actions participants might take to get assistance if they encounter any cyber security problems were explained to them.

The team shed light on the Integrated Child Protection Scheme's services as well as the functions of DCPU, CWC, and JJB.

Women Development Cooperation Budgam's Bashir Ahmad enhanced awareness of the Department's various financial services, including NMDFC, NHFDC, NBCFDC, and WEP.

In the awareness programme, local women, CDPO, supervisors, AWWs, and AWHs participated.
