To discuss the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, BRS leader K Kavitha will host a round table discussion with political parties, civil society organizations, and others in New Delhi.
On March 15, from 3 to 5 PM, a hotel in the capital will host the round table discussion, Kavitha's office said. Bharat Jagruthi, a cultural group led by Kavitha, is the organization in charge of planning the event.
Kavitha, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter, organized a hunger fast in Delhi on March 10 to press lawmakers to adopt the long-delayed Women's Reservation Bill during this budget session.
To draw attention away from her appearance before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case, Congress, and the BJP had claimed that the BRS MLC's hunger strike was in favour of the bill.
On March 11, Kavitha was deposed in front of the ED for nine hours to record her statement for use in a money laundering case involving suspected anomalies in Delhi's excise policy. The BRS head was reportedly called once more in connection with the matter on March 16.
