The Board of Maruti Suzuki India has recommended the appointment of Anjali Bansal and Ireena Vittal as Independent Directors during the meeting held on 31 July 2024. The recommendation will be presented at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting for approval. If approved they will be appointed for a period of five years w.e.f. 28 August 2024. Both leaders are highly respected professionals who will provide fresh perspectives and strategies.
Anjali Bansal, founder of Avaana Capital, is set to provide Maruti Suzuki with strategic guidance on innovation, sustainability, and corporate governance, leveraging her extensive experience in corporate governance, strategy, and consulting. She is a prominent industry figure and a strong advocate for diversity and mentors emerging women in industry and entrepreneurship. Ireena Vittal, a renowned consultant and strategist, specializes in urban development, agriculture, and inclusive growth, with expertise in market strategy, rural development, and organizational transformation.
The appointment of both women leaders as Independent Directors brings diverse perspectives to the company's strategic decision-making processes. Their combined experience in various sectors will strengthen governance and strategic initiatives. Their focus on sustainable growth aligns with Maruti Suzuki's objectives to innovate and grow sustainably while maintaining strong corporate governance standards.
