This week, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has announced that Beijing would host a meeting of global leaders on gender equality and women empowerment.

The event celebrates the fourth World Conference for women in Beijing in 1995, which set the agenda for gender equality in the international community.

At a press conference, ministry spokesman Guo Jiyakan said that the United Nations 2030 agenda is five years left before addressing the challenges and opportunities related to the development of women for sustainable development and women's development.

Guo also indicated that China is dedicated to promoting and acting for gender equality and the empowerment of women.

China also issued a white paper on its methods, principles, and projects in boosting gender equality and women's progress in contemporary society last week.

The paper once reiterated the progress of Chinese women and again emphasized the determination of China in making contributions to this international effort.

China has planned to host a meeting of global leaders on gender equality and women empowerment in Beijing in the near future. The event will bring leaders from all over the world to share knowledge about the development of women in the world and to carry forward gender equality.

The announcement matches the 30th anniversary of the fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, which is a turn in the establishment of the world agenda for women's rights.

The upcoming meeting is expected to emphasize both progress and obstacles, and recommended the United Nations 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
