BCCI announces Indian Women's Squad for Multi-Format Series against South Africa

The BCCI has announced India's women's cricket team for the ODI, T20I, and Test series against South Africa. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian team in the upcoming multi-format series that will commence on 16 June 2024 and end on 9 July 2024, consisting of a 3-match ODI, a one-off Test match, and three T20Is. Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain of the team. The South African women's cricket team will travel to India for the month-long series.
The Indian squad includes star players Jemimah Rodrigues, and Pooja Vastrakar depending upon their availability to fitness, as Jemimah missed the T20I series against Bangladesh due to a back injury during the Senior Women's Inter Zonal Multi-Day Trophy. Asha Sobhana, Dayalan Hemalatha, and Uma Chetry also received their maiden ODI and T20I call-ups along with phenomenal talents across all formats for the series. Additionally, Priya Punia returns to the team after a year, having been unsold in the WPL auction.
The events will be hosted at different venues including, 3 ODI matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, a one-off Test match, and 3 T20Is at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
