Avidii Partners with KDEM to Empower Women in Education through Women@Work Initiative
By: WE Staff | Friday, 25 August 2023
The Women@Work (W@W) initiative, a project started by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), is supported by Avidii, an on-demand EdTech platform. By collaborating and exchanging expertise, the Government of Karnataka and industry professionals founded KDEM, a non-profit organisation with the mission of bridging the gap between the state government and diverse companies.
Avidii's strategic cooperation with KDEM demonstrates its dedication to promoting women's emancipation in the field of education. The Women@Work project is intended to utilise the enormous potential of female educators and provide work chances for 500 Karnataka-based women each year. The plan also aims to upskill and academically prepare 10,000 pupils, significantly improving the state's educational environment.
Given the important roles that women play in education, Avidii is committed to providing appealing options for women to become part- or full-time teachers. Due to the innovative working conditions offered by Avidii, instructors are able to conduct their lessons from the convenience of their homes. The goal of this project is to assist women in pursuing a rewarding profession and earning a competitive wage while maintaining a secure work-life balance.
The engagement of Avidii in the project transcends conventional lines. The portal aggressively promotes engineering students to look for teaching positions, giving them the chance to coach and advise younger students while earning money online.
The co-founder of Avidii, Deepak Subbarao, showed his excitement for the partnership by saying, "We always aim to generate impact by collaborating with different groups, NGOs, and governmental entities. We are working to develop an employment platform for women and engineering students as part of KDEM's Women@Work (W@W) programme, which will serve as a source of income that is convenient for them to access from the comfort of their homes. We are pleased to be a part of KDEM's ecosystem and support this project by giving people at the grassroots level access to a variety of growth possibilities.
Sanjeev Gupta, CEO of KDEM, emphasised the value of corporate support when he said, "Corporate support is always welcome to take the initiatives forward in a bigger way. Karnataka aims to provide better opportunities for the workforce, with a special focus on women and student entrepreneurs from our emerging tech-clusters. We are pleased to work with Avidii on this project.
The partnership between Avidii and KDEM's Women@Work programme represents a crucial milestone in the empowerment of women in the education sector and the development of a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
