Australia defeat Pakistan by 9 Wickets; Player Face Injuries

Australia faced an exciting yet injurious match against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. AUS-W won by 9 wickets against PAK-W chasing a mere target of 83 runs in 11 overs. With this win, Team Australia secured their nearest seat for the semi-finals. However, due to misfortune, ace-pacer Tayla Vlaeminck suffered a shoulder injury, whereas Australian skipper Alyssa Healy retired hurt after an injury scoring the highest unbeaten 37*. Both the players are essential for Australia's upcoming matches.
Captain Alyssa won the toss and opted to bowl against Pakistan restricting them to 23 grabbing 2 wickets in the powerplay with their splendid bowling performance. Phoebe Litchfield caught opener Muneeba Ali (7) whereas Sadaf Shams (3) lost her wicket to Megan Schutt. Australian bowlers left no mercy as they trapped Sidra Amin (12) and Omaima Sohail (3), restricting them from smashing a competitive target. Soon after Nida Dar (10) was dismissed but Aliya Riaz's game showed a ray of hope to Pakistan women. Annabel Sutherland's death ball removed Aliya scoring 26, whereas Iram Javed (12), Tuba Hassan (3), Syeda Aroob Shah (1), Sadia Iqbal (0), and Nashra Sandhu (0) were moved to the pavilion by Ashleigh Gardner. Team Pakistan was all out scoring 82 runs in 19.5 overs.
Table toppers of Group A, Team Australia showcased dominant performance chasing this target. Pacers include Ashleigh Gardner received the 'Player of the Match' title for her excellent figures of 4/21, whereas Georgia Wareham secured 2/16, Megan Schutt 1/7, Sophie Molineux with 1/9, and Annabel Sutherland with 2/15. 4 Australian batters finished the match in style, including Beth Mooney (15 off 15) with 3 boundaries, Alyssa Healy (37 off 23) hitting 5 fours, Ellyse Perry (22 off 23) with 2 fours, and Ashleigh Gardner (7 off 5) smashing a boundary.
