Arunachal Governor, WCD Minister Deliberate on Women & Child Development Initiatives

- The issue of discussion was the empowerment of women and the well-being of the children in the state
- The matter of the Vibrant Villages Programme and its impact on rural society was also brought under discussion
Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Women & Child Development, Cultural Affairs, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology Dasanglu Pul called on Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik at Raj Bhavan today to sort out priority items of women and child welfare.
The issues ranged from empowering women more strongly, women entrepreneurship, taking forward childcare initiatives, and accelerating the implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP).
Governor Parnaik emphasized that development would be achievable only when women are brought to the forefront of development.
He emphasized the need to provide wider opportunities to women as job creators and leaders through upgradation of skills, better access to markets, and leveraging of local products under the 'Vocal for Local' initiative.
He also went on further to assert that women entrepreneurship is not just an economic force, but also a method of building strong and self-reliant communities.
Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, the Governor underscored how it could raise the border villages to the level of transformation through enhanced connectivity, education, health, and livelihood.
He emphasized that with a robust people-friendly approach complemented to it, the VVP would be a moving force towards the development of a progressive, inclusive, and vibrant Arunachal Pradesh.
