The Army Day Parade in Pune, Maharashtra, will be held on 15 January 2025. It will feature an all-girl contingent from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), an all-women Agniveer contingent from the Corps Military Police (CMP), and 12 robotic mules.
The parade will showcase four thematic tableaux and a set of marching 'robotic mules', marking the first time it will be held at Bombay Engineering Group and Centre (BEG) and Centre in Pune, which comes under the Army's Southern Command. Inducted last year, the robotic mules will carry loads, navigate inaccessible areas, engage militants, and salute dignitaries before marching forward. Standing in two equal rows, they will be followed by their handlers.
The 77th Army Day celebrations, with the theme 'Samarth Bharat, Saksham Sena,' will feature a 'Gaurav Gatha' program featuring Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to showcase the evolution of welfare from ancient to contemporary times. The event will also showcase various Army platforms, including K9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers, BMP-2 Sarath infantry combat vehicles, drone jammers, T-90 tanks, Swathi weapon, radar, Sarvatra Bridging System, Multi-Barrel Rocket System, ATOR N1200 all-terrain vehicle, and mobile communication tools, contributing to a stronger nation.
The Indian Army's Mission Olympics Wing will lead a series of tableaus, with the last one focusing on technology absorption in the last decade. Established in 2001, the Wing trains athletes at various sports nodes and has a Paralympic Node. The next tableau will feature veterans' contributions to nation-building, with Paralympic athlete and Army veteran Murlikant Petkar participating.
The Army Day Parade's next tableau will showcase the adoption of green measures contributing towards net-zero emission achievement. Whereas, the fourth tableau's theme is based on technology absorption, cutting-edge technology inducted in the last decade.
The Army has declared 2024-25 as the 'Year of Technology Absorption'. The event will feature a dog squad display, a weapons exhibition, and defense company stalls in the Southern Command area. The parade, traditionally held in Delhi, has been moved to Bengaluru.
