MSME Minister Srinivas Kondapalli informed that the state government is working on encouraging entrepreneurship at the grass root level with the target of "One Family, One Entrepreneur" in each family. He was addressing the Business Development Service (BDS) Certificate Distribution Programme at ALEAP Industrial Estate, Surampalli, on Wednesday.
The minister emphasized the role of the MSME sector in promoting inclusive growth and stated that business development service providers (BDS providers) would be crucial in providing technical assistance, advisory services, and market linkages for small enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.
During the event, certificates were distributed to 53 trained BDS providers under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, and a training guide was launched to aid in their work.
Under this scheme, APMSMEDC, in association with ALEAP, will train and empanel 1,200 BDS providers, five each to all the 175 Assembly constituencies to deliver last-mile support to MSMEs.
The minister also valued ALEAP's work, like opening a women-run industrial estate in Kuppam, and suggested that such an estate be opened in Vizianagaram to promote entrepreneurship in North Andhra.
The program was graced by officials such as V Karuna, CEO, AP SERP, Rama Devi Kanneganti, president, ALEAP, and Annapurna, vice chairperson, ALEAP Skill Development Cell.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also exchanged between SERP and ALEAP to enhance rural entrepreneurship by leveraging ALEAP's business acumen with SERP's rural reach.
The minister stated that enabling households through entrepreneurship would enhance livelihoods, economic resilience, and self-reliance in the state.
He further added that ALEAP, which has operated for more than 30 years, has helped women achieve self-employment through creating green industrial parks and Fab Cell Centers.
