All Women Team to Manage Upcoming Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai

South Asia’s largest hospitality company, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), has announced India’s first all-women-managed luxury residences, Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai. The project will be open in April 2021. The initiative comes as a step forward towards on-going efforts to create an unbiased workplace and empowering women in the hospitality industry.
In a statement, Rakhee Lalvani, Vice President, Public Relations, IHCL said, “Women at IHCL have played a very vital role in the organisation with their contribution and by pushing boundaries. The upcoming Taj Wellington Mews, Chennai managed by an all women team is a testament to the Group’s commitment towards improving the gender balance in the organization with a vibrant workforce and by providing equal opportunities to women across roles and positions.”
Taj Wellington Mews will include 112 spaciously and luxuriously prearranged residences, managed by a woman General Manager and a team of over 100 women across all operations and other departments. The project is advantageously located in the Old Mahabalipuram the IT corridor of Chennai. The property will generate employment locally, providing growth opportunities for women employees within the company itself.
