Abu Dhabi Chamber forms new board of ADBWC to Support Businesswomen & Women Entrepreneurs

The Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has formed a new board for the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council (ADBWC). The step was taken in a bid to support businesswomen and women entrepreneurs in Abu Dhabi and to help them strengthen their contribution to the economic development of the Emirates.

The new board that will come into action will play a key role in helping women entrepreneurs improve their skills and introduce them to the applicable laws & policies. It will also guide them to learn and understand the benefits ofseveral local and federal governmental initiatives and incentives that have been put in place.

Chaired by Her Excellency Asma Al Fahim, the ADBWC counts in its members, Board Members from the Abu Dhabi Chamber. It also includes several successful businesswomen from Abu Dhabi namely H.E. Nour Al Tamimi, H.E. Dr. Khadija Al Ameri, H.E. Marwa Al Mansouri, and H.E. Sheikha Al Nuwais.
speaking about the development, Chairwoman Al Fahim stated, “Over the past fifty years, the UAE has placed women empowerment amongst its top priorities and supported the Emirati woman to be a key partner in building the UAE,”

she further added, “the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Honorary Chairwoman of the ADBWC, played a huge role in women development in all fields, especially entrepreneurship. Thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima, the Emirati woman is now equipped with all the factors of success to occupy her proper place regionally and internationally.”

H.E. Al Fahim highlighted that the ADBWC in looking forward to increase its communication with businesswomen in Abu Dhabi to keep them updated on the latest economic changes. The council will also launch new initiatives and programs to support the business environment and to equip women entrepreneurs with all the necessary tools required for aspiring businesswomen.
