Co-founded by Sunaina Prakash, Goldcrest School believes in creating a community where children participate, succeed, and feel proud of their achievements. The institute strives to promote values and prepare children to become role models with core values such as confidence, community, information, inspiration, and teamwork. Goldcrest School was established in 2018, backed by the hard work and struggles of Founder & Managing Director Mr. Kiran Kumar Boosani and Sunaina Prakash, Co-Founder & Administrator. Goldcrest is Sunaina’s journey of passion towards education. She aims to equip the upcoming generation to be highly creative, intellectual, and keen to adopt new learning methods. In an insightful conversation with Women Entrepreneur India, she shares interesting facts about the school and her journey.

Highlight Your Journey As An Educationalist.

I started my journey as an Educationist in 2015. Previously, I was working with big corporates. Later, my learning process began in an educational institution in the administration department where I got the opportunity to learn a lot. I understood that the teaching department is the heart and the admin department is the backbone for any school. Both are very important and main pillars to run an institution. While interacting with my colleague and friend Mr. Kiran Kumar Boosani, we perceived the idea of starting a school. It was an instant ‘Yes’ for both of us. It took almost two years of rigorous planning and research. Finally, on June 10 of 2018, we inaugurated the Goldcrest School in Financial District, Hyderabad. With God’s Grace, we are in the 4th academic year and our school has been honored with 9 Awards, which is a great achievement for us till now. To wind up, I wanted to say that this is just a beginning.

Throw Some Light On The Faculty Of Goldcrest School. What Are Their Qualifications And Other Areas Of Expertise?

We hire faculty after 3 Stages of screening. We get them on board after analyzing their teaching skills and empathy. The educational background requires a B.Ed and Masters in an equivalent field with 2 to 12 years of experience.

The best way to make our educational system strong and impactful is to “Empower the Teachers”. As a school, we think a teacher’s responsibility is much more than just executing lesson plans. In today's world, a teacher's role is a multifaceted profession; they play the role of a surrogate parent, class disciplinarian, mentor, counsellor, bookkeeper, role model, planner, and more. A Teacher is a role model for their students. Teachers who portray an image of confidence and accomplishment will help fulfill a child's need for a positive role model when the family may fail to provide such a figure.

What Are The Various Pedagogies Used By The Faculty While Imparting Education?

There are 5 different pedagogical approaches to teaching. Each one is slightly different, and each teacher needs to decide which approach works best for them. Sometimes, a combination of these approaches can be used as well. The approaches are Constructive, Collaborative, Inquiry-Based, Integrative, and Reflective.

Tell Us About The Campus Life At Goldcrest School. What Are The Various Facilities Available For Students On Campus?

A vast expanse of 10000 sqft building with a playground of 1 acre provides a perfect ambiance for an aesthetically chartered school building. The open lawn is marked with a colorful bonanza of fresh floral bounty.

We have an awe-inspiring Wi-Fi-enabled infrastructure comprising of well-ventilated classrooms, science, math, and language laboratories. A library where books span time, space, culture, and genre. State-of-the-art recording studio, an AV room, two resource centers for teachers, a sports field, physical fitness, and indoor games, a discovery room to enhance the scientific temperament, and an art gallery to showcase the creative flair of the students.

The school has a well-equipped library. Reading sessions are conducted regularly exposing students to good written and reading skills. The libraries are supported by qualified librarians, and are well lit and ventilated, user-friendly with reference sections, periodical sections, and general sections. Reading is encouraged in students from a very young age, as an independent way to learn and gain knowledge. For reading pleasure, there is a wide range of fiction for all age groups and reading abilities right from age 3 to 18. The library is also used for literature promotion and language support. Primary classes come to the library once a week for storytelling and a range of activities centered on literature appreciation and information literacy.

The school has one computer laboratory with a Broadband Internet connection and sophisticated multimedia facilities and resources. Equipped with the latest hardware and software, our computer laboratories provide an excellent ambiance and opportunity to learn and master ICT skills from the basic to the advanced levels. Primary classes will use the ICT labs for practical. We will plan to increase labs as per the growth of school each year.

A scientific temperament is nurtured through fully equipped and suitably designed laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The art room is a place where students can develop their self-esteem through involvement in the art-making process, having fun as they explore new ideas, materials, and techniques. The Art room is a well-equipped, spacious, light-filled space that is visually engaging for the students.

We have a multipurpose Auditorium for Assem-bly, Parent Orientations, Lesson Enrichment, and Events. Apart from this, we have Infirmary, Wellness Center, Sports and Games Facility, Transport facility, Well-ventilated and Air-conditioned Classrooms that are tech-enabled. For security reasons, we have CCTV Cameras, Fire Alarm Equipment, and Omnipolis service.

With beliefs in the creative minds of the mod-ern generation, Sunaina helps the learners in education journey. Sunaina completed Bachelor of Education because of the interest in education and for becoming an Edupreneur. Sunaina started her career in 2009 and worked in re-nowned companies. She completed Bachelors in Business Administration and later completed management in International Human Resource. Sunaina has Post Graduate Diploma degree in Advertising and Public Relations. Sunaina has impeccable skills in intellectual property, patents and legal research.
