According to our new research study on “Online Recruitment Market to 2028 - COVID-19 Impact and Global Analysis – by Job Type, Application, and Geography,” the Online Recruitment Market is projected to reach US$ 47,315.0 million by 2028 from US$ 29,292.3 million in 2021; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.1% during 2021–2028. When it comes to a developing economy like India, the recruitment sector is still in demand despite the pandemic outbreak. It is most because of developments from each and every sector is calling for more and more employees. Here, recruitment firms play a vital role as they act as the bridge between an employer and an employee which is why the way to conduct business should be refined, diplomatic and of course honest. Synerzie Partners is a recruitment start-up from Gurgaon that has been able to earn the trust of clients with perfection in services in a very short span of time. The WE magazine engages in a conversation with Ruchi Gupta, MD, Synerzie Partners in order to know more about the company and the level of impact it is having on the recruitment industry of the country.

Give us a brief overview of Synerzie Partners. What are some important features about your expertise as an exclusive search professional that you want the world to know?

Synerzie Partners is a Boutique Consulting Firm incorporated in 2014. Synerzie which is derived from Synergy (Stronger Together) and a dutch word Zie (to see), implies working together with one vision.

Our skilled recruiters have always focused on middle and senior management talent needs. We recruit for the business support functions like HR, Legal, Marketing, Finance etc across various industry segments for MNCs as well as leading Indian business houses. We super specialize in hiring in the HR domain, be it an HR Head / Business Partners or any of the CoE roles like Compensation, Recruitment, L&D etc. We intent to be the most preferred “HR Hiring Brand” in the country.

Throw some light on the various roles and responsibilities that your current role as the Managing Director entails at Synerzie Partners. What business challenges do you face in your current role?

As the Managing Director of Synerzie Partners, my prime focus has always been on building relationships. Be it the relationship with the candidates or the Clients. I believe relationships are the biggest earnings of an individual in their career journeys. Revenue matters a lot and I don’t neglect that. However, mine and my teams prime focus would always be “the Quality and never the Quantity”. I feel proud to mention, because of this, all our business till date has been by the word of mouth and we are empanelled vendors to the biggest names in the industry be it Ecommerce, Start-Ups, large Technology Product companies, services organisations, Big Consulting houses and the likes.

“We super specialize in hiring in the hr domain, be it an hr head / business partners or any of the coe roles like compensation, recruitment, l&d etc. We intent to be the most preferred “hr hiring brand” in the country.”

Common challenges that any Recruitment agency will see are: Too many recruiters after the same candidate, candidates fielding multiple offers at the same time, shortage of Talent with the skills the organisation needs, hiring managers too picky with what they want. However, I feel with a proper communication and a good relationship with candidates and clients, all these challenges can be handled well. Candidates / Clients should feel the Trust in an association with you.

Tell us about some of the strategies and tools that you leverage to find the best suited candidates for clients?

All those you speak with in the Recruitment world would know about the Search engines, the job portals, the job postings and LinkedIn as the most popular Social-Media hiring tools. While all these are the essentials which too use as a search medium, I will call ours a bit traditional approach. We focus a lot on networking. We do heavy networking amongst the batches (Tier I and Tier II B-schools). We depend a lot on references from people and we do our own ref checks before we recommend any candidates to our clients. Our target is to close the position with the first 10 CVs we show to the client. We do detailed talk with the candidates before recommending them to any of our clients.

In a world that is constantly changing, how do you keep yourself well aligned with the periodic evolutions occurring in your respective industry and the technology domain?

I believe Recruitment is the job of patience. It’s all about people and understanding their mind-sets. While technology can be a medium to find the best talent, it cannot replace a human’s (recruiter’s) involvement in the process. With the evolved technology platforms, the recruiter’s job has become much easier. I remember the days, when we used to do cold calling through board-line numbers of the organisations. With 17 years of experience and expertise in hiring in the HR domain, I would like to stick to our traditional approach of reaching out to the candidates 1-1, while using Technology as a medium only and not depending on it 100%. Would like to re-iterate, it’s about reading people and not just reading resumes!
