Walk us through your educational history. What were some significant factors in your early years that moulded you into the person you are today?
Expressing gratitude, I appreciate the opportunity to share my educational and professional journey. Having earned an MBA from Symbiosis University in 2004, specializing in technology, I was among the first batch in this field. Subsequently, I obtained a Six Sigma certification in 2006 from the U.S.-based organization SSAI and pursued a master's in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) from NF NLP, USA in 2023. My professional career commenced in 2004 at DSS Software in Pune, where I gained valuable mentorship and experience working with industry professionals. Progressing to Harbinger Software, I ventured into international business development and represented products at U.S. expos. Transitioning to FinTech, which was at the threshold of early AI, I got international exposure and opportunity to represent in international expos & conference. Subsequent roles at a Netherland based software company broadened my market exposure, emphasizing European dynamics. In 2010, I initiated my entrepreneurial journey by founding Talkd, marking the inception of my foray into technology and marketing.
Despite challenges, I've learned to persist with the belief that tough times are temporary, aiming for eventual success

Acquiring a diverse skill set is crucial, particularly in the tech and STEM fields where being a woman adds a unique dimension. These industries are predominantly male-dominated, and although women are making strides, the gender gap persists. Over the years, I've realized the importance of being resilient, standing my ground, and maintaining a consistent presence. It can be challenging to navigate certain sectors where women are underrepresented, and impressing others may require extra effort. The key lesson learned is not to allow external factors to significantly impact me, but rather, to take challenges in stride and continue moving forward.

Illuminate a pivotal professional milestone you've reached on your journey and share the guiding principles that have fueled your success throughout the years.
Being honoured with Pune’s Women Leaders Award by the World Human Leadership Congress was a significant recognition. Additionally, the opportunities provided by organizations I worked for, where I was entrusted to represent them internationally, marked pivotal moments. This experience not only exposed me to new horizons but also reinforced my leadership capabilities. Another transformative juncture was the decision to venture into entrepreneurship, marked by the inception of Talkd in 2010. Despite a successful career, I took a bold step into entrepreneurship, a decision that became a life-changing journey filled with new insights and opportunities. My success mantra revolves around strong faith and spirituality, finding guidance in a higher power. This belief serves as a constant anchor, akin to relying on a rope during challenging times. Despite facing ups and downs, setbacks, and successes, the unwavering conviction in holding onto this "rope" helps navigate tough phases and strive towards the summit. The essence of my success mantra lies in recognizing life's fluctuations, and persistently moving forward with strength derived from faith, whether in God, family, or other deeply held beliefs.
What's your view on women's representation in top leadership roles in the Indian business landscape? How can we encourage more women to establish lasting careers?
Women still face significant underrepresentation, especially in sectors like tech, reflecting a societal conditioning that hinders their visibility in certain roles. This issue stems from the lack of comprehensive educational and leadership programs for women. Furthermore, the scarcity of mentors willing to guide and train women for various roles exacerbates the problem. These challenges are interconnected, making it difficult for women to find opportunities and advance in their careers. Current statistics in India show some improvement, with more women entering leadership roles and pursuing STEM education and jobs. However, the growth is gradual and needs a more pronounced upward trajectory. Government initiatives are crucial to encourage women to undergo specific training for leadership positions. The economic impact of women joining the workforce is vital for a country like India, and concerted efforts are required to create an environment conducive to women's professional growth and representation.
