Women's Employment on the Rise in Abu Dhabi Business Landscape

Gone are the days when the corporate world was solely a man’s playing field. Today, women are playing an equal role in the corporate world across the globe. The scenario is also changing in even the most traditionalist societies. For the longest time, traditions and societal restrictions hindered women from fully engaging in their country's economy and politics. But in recent years,women are joining the workforce in troves and are also moving towards selfemployment. The trend has significantly increased in Abu Dhabi, with women presently beginning new enterprises at a speedier pace than their male counterparts.
All across the country women's economic security is being recognised as being vital to their wellbeing and empowerment. According to a recent survey conducted by LinkedIn, while the pandemic has had negative impact on women’s success & participation at work, yet it has had somewhat of a positive impact on hiring of women in the UAE. The report said that women now constitute almost 37 percent of all new hires in the country, which is a 1.73 percent YoY increase.
The Women Entrepreneur Magazine brings to you a list of prolific women leaders from Abu Dhabi who have not only crafted illustrious careers but have also been at the forefront of the corporate landscape.

Women in Abu Dhabi are taking over all kinds of leadership roles whether it is in medical domains, various business fields, or government sectors, women are contributing to the overall strategy of the UAE.”

She is an art enthusiast and is supporting and developing the skills of the artists as well as providing them a worldwide stage to showcase their talent through the N2N Gallery. “Due to the UAE government's strong support for the advancement of women, Abu Dhabi is a highly unique location. Today, the UAE Cabinet has one of the highest percentages of women,” she says. The current edition also features Tara Rose Kidd, Founder, Tara Rose Salon who is a dynamic business leader who found her niche in the hairdressing and beauty space.
