India’s corporate world was said to be an ‘all-boys club’. But the winds of change are blowing and blowing strong.
Women across India are rewriting the story of corporate leadership by foraying into industries and roles that were kept away from their reach for decades. Be it read estate, automotive, finance or technology, every sector is seeing a sharp rise in the number of women employees. While women’s participation in entry level to mid-level roles has been increasing steadily, the same cannot be said about leadership roles.
Women’s representation in leadership roles continues to be low and an area that needs to be worked on. Recent studies show that Indian women now hold around 28% of senior management roles in India, up from 16-18% in 2016.
