Nestled in a green, sprawling campus on the banks of Powai lake, IIT Bombay is a pioneering educational institution in the field of engineering education and research. Founded in 1958, IIT B is one of the most sought after IITs in the country today. It was in 1961 when the Indian Parliament recognized the IITs as ‘Institutes of National Importance'. Since then, the institute has helped nurture some of the most prolific technical minds of the country.

The institutes’ alumni have distinguished themselves through their achievements and contributions to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains. The institute continues to work closely with the alumni to enhance its activities through interactions in academic and research programmes as well as to mobilise financial support.

IIT B has also created some prolific women leaders who continue to transform their respective industries and chart new heights of success. Its pertinent to note that women leaders are flexible and adaptable, often displaying a blend of transformational, participative and democratic leadership. They function as role models for younger women of the world. With the unique perspective that female leaders bring to the table, they make businesses run better and drive the country’s economy in new directions, making companies more diverse, culturally adaptive and less biased.

The current edition of Women Entrepreneurs Review magazine celebrates women leaders who are alumna of the celebrated institution.
