The business world today is a hyper-competitive place where ‘you snooze, you lose’. Technology and business have evolved greatly and there is a growing need for visionary management gurus to lead the way for their respective organizations to align with the evolving needs of new-age business landscape.
The Indian government had anticipated the need for talented and skilled management professionals and had thus pushed for the establishment of management institutions that would be at par with their international counterparts. As such India got its IITs and IIMs, the seat of knowledge and innovation.
Topping the charts of the most coveted institutions of the nation is IIM Ahmedabad. One amongst a group of 20 public, autonomous institutes for management education and research in India, IIM-A is known to hone C-suite management leaders in business space today. The institute offers master's degree programs in management and a number of executive training programs to candidates to nurture or boost their business leadership skills.
IIM-A is also known to be the epicentre of entrepreneurial vision. Fostering free thinking and business acumen among its students, the institute nurtures young founders to build innovative startups. Recently, IIMA Ventures, the startup incubator of IIM Ahmedabad, in partnership with the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) launched Swanari TechSprint 3.0, a program to support fintech startups to identify and develop solutions to advance financial inclusion for women in India. The institute has been influential in not only helping women founders build startups but has also empower women across India through its plethora of educational programs.
The list of women founders to have come out of IIM-A is long and illustrious. We celebrate a few such women leaders in the current edition of Women Entrepreneurs Review magazine.
Meet Pooja Meena, the founder of Claymistry and an alumna of IIM Ahmedabad. She brings a deeply rooted value system shaped by professionalism, punctuality, and ecosystem thinking. With a career spanning leadership roles at top firms like Amazon, Uber, and Paytm, she transitioned from the corporate world to build Claymistry, driven by her belief in conscious living and sustainable impact.
Talking about the profound impact that her time at IIM-A created in her life, Pooja says, “IIMA helped me gain confidence in my ability to learn anything and adapt to any role. The exposure I received at IIMA expanded my world view and fundamentally changed how I saw possibilities, for myself and others like me.”
