The world of architecture is mesmerizing. It brings the perfect amalgamation of science, technology and art which culminates in creation of functional yet aesthetically pleasing spaces. By that definition, an architect is nothing less than an artist.
There has been a rise in the demand for architectural services across the globe lately. As developed nations grow further and the construction industry expands, the need for new-age architectural services also amplifies. Urbanization is also playing a key role in the industry’s rise.
But architecture has been around for centuries. As early as 1936 is when India got its first female architect in Perin Jamshedji Mistri. She went on to design many a marvel across the country while also paving the way for future generations of women architects in the country.
Close to a century has passed since Perin’s foray into the field and following her lead, several prolific Indian women architects have entered the field. In the current edition of Women Entrepreneurs Review magazine, we shine the spotlight on a few such women architects.
One of the featured women architects is Sudiksha Parekh, the founder of Mumbai-based architecture firm, Imprint Architects. An architect driven by a passion for creation and innovation, Sudiksha believes that architecture is much more than physical structures. As a Gold medalist from Centre of Environment and technology, CEPT, Ahmedabad. Sudiksha’s architectural education has been shaped by esteemed mentors such as B.V. Doshi, Gurjit Singh Matharoo, and Miki Desai. Her design philosophy revolves around bringing clients’ vision to life through a structured yet client-centric approach.
We also feature an interaction with Roksana Chehna, Founder, Roksana & Anosh. Roksana known for her innovative approach that seamlessly blends psychology, culture, and sustainability. Her work goes beyond structures, creating spaces that foster meaningful human experiences.
