Jasleen Kohli is the Managing Director and CEO of Go Digit General Insurance. Her remuneration for the fiscal year 2025 has been reported to be around ₹4.11 crore, whereas that for FY2025-26 has been ₹4.3695 crore. This includes a fixed salary of ₹3.9227 crore and ₹58.16 lakh as variable pay earned from the last financial year. The shareholders have also given approval to change in her remuneration package as MD & CEO. Ms Jasleen Kohli’s appointment and remuneration make her one of the prominent women CEOs of the Indian insurance industry.

9. Dipali Goenka — Welspun Living

• MD & CEO of Welspun Living
• Leads the home-textiles business  

Dipali Goenka is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Welspun Living. According to its FY 2024-25 annual report, ₹4.13 crore is paid to Dipali in the form of remuneration, of which ₹3.10 crore is the salary and ₹1.03 crore is the variable remuneration. The company further mentions that apart from the remuneration disclosed by it, Dipali is paid commissions for her performance by the subsidiary of the company depending on its profits.

10. Praveena Rai — Multi Commodity Exchange

• Heads India’s commodity exchange

Praveena Rai is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at the Multi Commodity Exchange of India. For FY2024-25, the MCX disclosures state that her total pay package is approximately ₹1.48 crore. Praveena Rai is designated as Executive Director, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at the company. With the designation she became the chief executive of India’s biggest commodity derivatives exchange. Even though the disclosed pay package of hers is much lower than those of other leading female CEOs of this list, her designation as MD and CEO makes her a legitimate candidate to be considered among the present female CEOs.

What Women Executive Pay Says?

The compensation statistics showcase a conflicting picture of women’s movement into India’s highest executive positions. The biggest salary package disclosed in this data is enjoyed by Vinita Gupta, Vishakha Mulye, Falguni Nayar and Prabha Narasimhan, whose compensation goes beyond ten crore range. Nevertheless, even this statistic shows a bigger picture of women who are still a tiny minority among CEOs in India.

These women prove that the ceiling can be broken; however, the numbers also show just how rare that still is. For every CEO on this list, there are dozens of boardrooms across India where a woman has yet to make it to the top job, let alone the top of the pay scale. Real change won't come from a handful of standout names. It'll come when stories like these stop being exceptions worth writing about and that day can't come soon enough.
