Sonali Bendre: The Happy Pawdcast
Sonali Bendre was one of the prominent actresses of the 1990s, building a successful career across Hindi and Telugu cinema. Her highly public battle with cancer later became a transformative period in her life and reshaped many of her priorities.
Her relationship with her dog Icy during her recovery eventually inspired her latest digital venture, The Happy Pawdcast. Produced by RosePod, the YouTube series launched in March 2025 and focuses entirely on pet parenting and care.
Sonali co-hosts the episodes with Icy, a golden retriever, while inviting celebrity pet parents, veterinarians and specialists to discuss nutrition, training, health and the legal responsibilities associated with pet ownership. The show's debut episode with lifestyle creator Sherry Shroff remains its most-viewed, with around 86K views.
The episode combined personal storytelling with practical advice about raising a rescued dog in an Indian city. Sherry's experience with the shortage of pet-friendly cabs, in particular, resonated with urban pet owners. More than a celebrity podcast, the series reflects Sonali's own relationship with caregiving and demonstrates how a personal experience can evolve into a new professional purpose.
