Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) continue their India Destination promotion with the fourth leg being conducted in Bengaluru. Attended by 200 participants, the event showcased Türkiye as an ideal destination for Indian travellers, including women looking to travel solo.
The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) conducted the Bangalore edition of its India Destination Promotion Event 2025 on February 27. The event was part of the continued six-city promotional series which aims at fostering deeper tourism ties between Türkiye and India.
Speaking to team WER, Turkiye Tourism Authority said, “Turkey is a good travel choice for Indians since Indian and Turkish culture has so much in common. There's room to do and experience so much.”
Previously conducted in Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, the Bengaluru event was attended by over 200 participants, which included key travel agencies, tour operators, and hospitality professionals.

The event was led by Basak Onsal Demir, Counsellor for Culture and Tourism Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, alongside TGA representative Zeynep Sinem Özyalçın.
During the presentation, Zeynep Sinem Özyalçın highlighted Türkiye’s expanding tourism portfolio, unveiling new destinations and specialized offerings in the wedding and MICE segments. Among the standout attractions introduced were the breathtaking Aegean coasts, the ancient marvel of Göbeklitepe, and the historically rich Taş Tepeler region, further enriching Türkiye’s diverse travel experiences.
The event's timing aligns with Türkiye's growing popularity in the Indian market, evidenced by an impressive 20 percent surge in interest throughout 2024.
Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency stated, “India is a crucial market for Türkiye, and Bengaluru’s vibrant travel sector presents significant potential for deeper engagement. We are committed to fostering strong partnerships with travel stakeholders in India to ensure that Indian visitors experience the best of Türkiye. Whether it’s cultural heritage, luxury travel, or breathtaking natural landscapes, Türkiye offers an array of experiences that resonate with the Indian traveller. By strengthening our ties with Bengaluru’s travel community, we aim to further elevate Türkiye as a preferred global destination.”
Speaking to team WER, Turkiye Tourism Authority spoke about Türkiye being a safe travel destination for women travellers. She shed light on Türkiye’s well established travel sector which makes the country a safe haven for women travellers. She said, “Tourism is not an emerging sector for Türkiye. It is an already developed industry which has been around for several decades. Since the 60s, Türkiye’s institutions, ministries, companies, and NGOs have been working to develop the tourism sector.”
She further adds, “For years the Turkish society, institutions, government, administration has been working to ensure safety for tourists and travellers visiting the country.” She also highlights that the country has several departments solely focusing on safety and security. That coupled with the Turkish culture that prioritises hospitality, makes the country one of the safest travel destinations in the world.
A key highlight was the presence of Turkish Airlines and IndiGo, reinforcing their commitment to seamless air connectivity between India and Türkiye. Attendees also expressed interest in potential direct flights from Bengaluru to Istanbul, enhancing travel convenience for Indian tourists.
The event featured presentations, interactive B2B networking sessions, and a lucky draw offering exclusive travel experiences.
The next leg of the event will be conducted in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
