Early life of Ekta Kapoor

Ekta Kapoor who is a highly influential figure in the Indian entertainment industry was born in Mumbai, on June 7, 1975. She belongs to the renowned Kapoor family, which has a long history in Bollywood. She is the daughter of legendary actor Jeetendra (Ravi Kapoor) and Shobha Kapoor.

Ekta co-founded Balaji Telefilms along with her mother Shobha Kapoor in 1994. This production company played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian television industry. Under her guidance, Balaji Telefilms produced a variety of successful television series that have become household names in India. Breaking away from the form of traditional family dramas, Ekta Kapoor is credited with introducing innovative and bold storytelling concepts in Indian television.
