As a lean strategist for hospitals, she possesses notable certifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt (LSSGB & LSSBB) granted by KPMG, highlighting her proficiency in implementing lean principles and achieving operational excellence. She holds unrivaled experience working at The Mission Hospital Durgapur, sharing responsibilities for quality and leading the Lean strategy at the hospital. She also handled Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital in their initial quality and accreditation journey as Manager - Quality Systems and Accreditation. Sunanda takes great pride in being associated with CAHO - Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organization, as a Governing Committee Member & State Chairman - in Jharkhand since 2019 and NBQP-QCI registered pro. Tell us about the various responsibilities you shoulder as the Director of the firm.

As the Director, I focus on developing and building strategies to promote the company's mission and voice, and creating high-level business plans to achieve business objectives. I train and interact with senior managers and provide them with guidance and feedback as and when required parallelly developing and maintaining strong relationships with all shareholders, other boards of directors, and external authorities. My understanding of the company's financial and non-financial positions helps me to deal with crises and provide remedial actions to reduce risk and mitigate issues. I am also involved in building an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers.

What role has your Alma Mater XLRI Jamshedpur played in your evolution as an individual and as a business leader?

I pursued a Strategic Management course from XLRI Jamshedpur which broadened my horizons of effectively developing and implementing corporate strategies, setting up realistic business objectives, and performing daily tasks efficiently. It also allowed me to develop leadership skills, help manage people, teams, and organizations effectively, study different business scenarios, and formulate strategies accordingly. This experience played a significant role in shaping me as a business leader.

What drives you every day as an industry leader? What advice would you give to emerging leaders so that they can create a significant impact on their life and work?

I believe it is imperative to stay fit and maintain balance in life and work. Physical fitness, along with mental calm/strength and emotional balance, creates a significant impact on life and work. These drive and smoothen my path in life and play a key role in my work, career, and prosperity. A maintained lifestyle is an answer to all that reflects in my work and helps in better plan my day. Choosing the work you love to do is important, and it is my passion to work in healthcare. These aspects keep me focused on my life and work. But the most important factors as my strength are spiritual wellness and the support of my family, friends, and work team.

Sunanda Banerjee, Director, Innolead

Sunanda has a Master's degree in Hospital Administration from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly known as WBUT). She has attained a distinguished degree in Strategic Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and acquired valuable expertise in Managing and Sustaining Hospital Growth through her studies at IIM Bangalore. She is the certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt (LSSGB & LSSBB) from KPMG. At present, she is concurrently pursuing an LLB degree from Brainware University, while diligently serving as a Ph.D. Research Scholar at The University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She holds the recognition of various important Healthcare and Hospital projects on Lean Strategy presented on different National and International platforms including a few in International Hospital Federation, the International forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, International Conference on Healthcare Reform, Health Economics and Health Policy-2023, 2nd Global Summit on Public Health and Preventive Medicine (GSPHPM 2023) and International Conference on Medical and Health Science (ICSHM-2023).
