Here are some highlights from our interaction with her:

What are some important features about your expertise as a cosmetic dermatologist?

As a cosmetic dermatologist, I enhance my patients’ skin and hair quality which infuses them with an inner confidence. I believe when you look good, you feel good and in turn work better and are more productive in life. What sets me apart is my experience with global stalwarts in the industry and my result-oriented approach. I focus on devoting ample time with all my clients so as to address all their spoken and unspoken desires and concerns. This builds on our uniqueness in addition to the fact that our equipment and products are US FDA approved. I provide personalized attention to all my patients and carefully listen to their needs, which not many doctors can claim.

Take us through your early educational journey and prior industry experience. What moti-vated you to establish Skin International Aesthetic Laser Clinic?

Skin International Aesthetic Laser Clinic was established with the thought and intense desire to bring quality skin care of International standards to India. The motivation was borne from a wide spectrum of studies, training and experience both nationally and internationally in derma-tology and aesthetics undertaken by me. My past experience as an emergency physician and intensivist, made me resilient to the ever changing circumstances, while my international edu-cation and training in UK paved my path towards an independent medical establishment allow-ing me to take complete control of the processes and treatments being provided.

Skin and hair problems are always associated with an underlying mental distress and i believe in addressing it by spending quality time with every individual

Tell us about your various roles and responsibilities as the Founder & Medical Director of Skin International Aesthetic Laser Clinic. What are the primary focus areas in your current role?

As the founder and director my role includes but is not limited to managing every aspect of the clinic, mentoring my staff, researching advanced medical management modalities while simul-taneously focusing on providing exemplary personal care to every patient. Skin and Hair prob-lems are always associated with an underlying mental distress and I believe in addressing it by spending quality time with every individual.

What are some of the most pressing challenges that you encounter as a cosmetic dermatologist? How do you successfully mitigate these challenges?

As a woman, every aspect of running a business can be a challenge because you constantly need to prove yourself. However, one of the earliest predicaments was a hesitancy in request-ing remuneration for your medical services. Another uphill task that we have overcome is to provide top-notch aesthetic services at a fairly reasonable cost without compromising on quali-ty by educating the patient and ensuring the use of advanced and only approved medical devic-es and products in my clinic.

What are some of the most significant milestones that you have achieved throughout your professional journey? What has been the driving force behind your success as a professional?

Since being accepted into medical school, every step in my career has been a significant accomplishment for me. I began my career as an emergency physician, advanced to the position of intensivist, and then pursued clinical dermatology in the UK, which was a crucial turning point that greatly influenced my career. All of my experiences have been significant because they taught me ideals that have enabled me to establish and successfully run my clinic. Witnessing satisfaction, joy and self confidence in my patient’s as a result of a service I rendered gives me the impetus to persevere in my endeavour as an aesthetic practitioner.

Drawing from your experience as a business leader, what would your advice be to young women and girls who also aspire to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

If a woman has a burning desire to achieve something, no matter what it is, they should just listen to their inner voice and take that first step now. Do not wait for tomorrow. It is prudent to take advice, but it is important to stay true to your goals and to follow your dreams.
