What inspired you to pursue physiotherapy and specialise as a Spine and Sports Physiotherapist? What areas of expertise have you developed?
I was drawn towards physiotherapy as it has the power to restore freedom of movement and the confidence that comes with it. Physiotherapy is a blend of science, movement, and patient care, that makes it more than just a profession. I was fortunate enough to understand the depths of it and later it became my calling.
Spine and sports physiotherapy captured my interest because of its transformative outcomes. I have actively honed my expertise in spinal rehabilitation, sports injury management, strength and conditioning, posture correction, marathon fitness, workplace ergonomics, and footwear/insoles prescription for many years now.
My services are dedicated towards empowering patients through active treatments that build long-term resilience, rather than relying on passive, short-lived solutions.
Stay curious, grow constantly, while prioritizing your work ethics
What led you to establish OrthoSports Physiotherapy? Tell us about the underlying idea and vision behind the venture.
My journey with Orthosports Physiotherapy began from a realization that India’s physiotherapy landscape was relying too heavily on the outdated, time-consuming approaches that echoed a huge gap.
With my experience in the U.S, where evidence-based and active treatments were the norm, I envisioned bringing the same gold standards of care to India. This vision became the ground for Orthosports Physiotherapy. Here, we focus on providing patients the tools and strategies to regain independence swiftly, making recovery not just about treatments, but about returning to life, with strength and confidence.
What key roles and responsibilities do you shoulder as the founder of OrthoSports Physiotherapy?
As the helm of Orthosports Physiotherapy, I am committed to drive both vision and growth while sharing my knowledge through mentoring skilled team of dedicated physiotherapists. I integrate international best practices into our treatment protocols, ensure a patient-first approach, and expand services to include sports massage, marathon training, strength conditioning, and ergonomics. The opportunity of representing the clinic at community events, conferences, and corporate wellness programs allows me to advocate for prevention and healthy living.
What are the fundamentals of ensuring positive patient outcomes at Orthosports Physiotherapy?
At Orthosports Physiotherapy, we have a strong belief that lasting recovery comes from a strong foundation. This is the reason our approach rests on three key pillars: precise diagnosis guided by evidence, personalized treatment plans designed for each individual, and empowering education that helps patients stay active and prevent future setbacks.
Simplicity with impact defines our philosophy at Orthosports Physiotherapy. Our approach prioritizes evidence-based practices like posture evaluation, functional training, ergonomic awareness, and sport-specific rehabilitation, that genuinely work. Patients trust us because they walk away not just healed and treated, but prepared for a healthier, pain-free living.
What are some challenging aspects of being a Spine and Sports physiotherapist? How do you navigate through these roadblocks?
I am of the view that true healthcare goes beyond treatment as it rests on trust and transparency. At Orthosports Physiotherapy, one of the most significant challenges we face is helping patients understand that healing is not instant but built on discipline and consistency. Meanwhile, physiotherapy itself is rapidly evolving requiring us to keep pace with global innovations.
I intend to pave a simple way forward, by investing in education for patients, leading with empathy, and committing to continuous learning through annual exposure to global best practices. This shows we deliver care that truly lasts.
Looking back, which key milestones have you achieved so far? What is your success mantra?
My career is a testament to several proud milestones amalgamated that defines my journey. One that was deeply rewarding was setting up a respected practice in Mumbai with a patient-first approach centred on compassion and results. Growing a dedicated team with eight skilled physiotherapists, we have expanded to include a diverse range of services that address both clinical recovery and lifestyle needs.
Viewing partnership with sports events and marathons to guiding corporate wellness initiatives, I take pride in each collaboration that has further extended our reach and reinforced our purpose. Invitations to speak on specialized topics like shoe prescription, foam rolling therapies, and workplace ergonomics reflect recognition of our expertise.
What fuels me is a simple mantra: stay curious, keep innovating, and place patient well-being at the heart of my practice.
