The increasing construction, remodelling, and renovating activities in residential and commercial spaces currently represent one of the key factors positively influencing the home décor market. In addition, the shifting population from rural to urban areas and the increasing expenditure capacity of individuals catalyze the demand for home decor items across the globe. What are some essential features of your expertise as an entrepreneur?

As an entrepreneur, I realize that you have to get your hands dirty to succeed in the long run. If you are in a labor-intensive industry, it's really about the art of dealing with and managing people. The forte has been the power to curate and conceptualize designs while keeping the demand and trends in perspective. It's my most vital strength that I have got naturally, and which keeps me going today.

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. Always remain true to your ground"

What motivated you to establish Ev Home? Tell us about the underlying idea behind the venture and some of its most unique features.

While my formal education has been in Journalism, and I have worked with a big channel like NDTV. Later, I realized I had more to contribute and wanted to fulfil my creative juices. Having a legacy in home decor, I had grown up understanding the market and designs. EvHome finds a perfect balance of workmanship and functionality, ethics and allurement, heritage and innovation. Its USP is its design which is oriented using mix media of materials like glass, Pu leather, and Resin. The underlying idea was to provide the luxury of handmade in India at affordable cost. EvHome strives to make decor for the unique cosy corners of your home. It is an endeavour to keep the rich traditions of Indian art forms alive and spread its awareness across India and beyond.

Tell us about your responsibilities as the Founder of Ev Home. What are your primary focus areas in terms of leading the company?

It's been eight years, and to date, I am personally involved with most of the aspects of my business which make a smooth and seamless running of it. My core focus has been making and creating new products and designing them frequently as per the demand and market trends, season, on a season basis. Apart from this, I even keep a very close lookout on the accounts. Resting the usual day-to-day work keeps me on my toes in helping all my clients receive the ordered goods well before or within the committed timelines. I keep my commitment over and above every aspect of my business, and that's my mantra for running a successful business.

Throw some light on the most critical challenges you face in your current role. What steps do you take to overcome the roadblocks that you encounter?

Our ethnicity lies in our power to curate and create handmade art. With time, we are losing out on our most treasured Karigars to create intricate art on beautiful decor. But to overcome the challenge, we are encouraging the next generation of karigars by adding more financial strength and a feeling of pride to their crafts. At the moment, we have a dependency on raw materials from outside of our country. Recently we have added machinery to keep doing the process within our factory premises. We need more aid from the government for youngsters and women entrepreneurs to grow and be more self-made in India.

Tell us about some of the most significant professional milestones you have achieved. What has been your success mantra?

Achieving my first purchase order was the first encouragement to keep going and working towards my goal. Another significant achievement is when my clients smile and reorder, as no reward can be more important than successfully running the business. Today Ev is known as one of the top business houses for its designs, exclusivity, and customization. In the shortest time of eight years, making that mark is a milestone for me.
