In order to overcome the challenges faced by women scientists, specifically to change the perspective of people towards women in science, a session was organized by the Women Scientists Conclave under the title India International Science Festival (IISF). The session discussed the holistic approach that needs to be taken to ensure equal participation of women in science.
The main objectives of this conclave were to create an effective strategy to deal with these problems and assess the IISF's progress the following year. Along with initiatives for women scientists in R&D, the conclave also emphasized the significance of advancing women scientists in the industry.
A number of prominent female entrepreneurs from various regions of the nation participated in the conversations and shared their motivational experiences and obstacles encountered. The conclave brought together women leaders in Science and Technology from premier departments, highlighting their rapid progress and contributions to science transformation.
Entrepreneur Padma Shri Moirangthem Muktamani Devi was also present in the conclave and shared her entrepreneurial journey, showcasing her well-known line of inventive woolen shoes. She claimed that financial hardships led her to begin creating shoes as a way to replace her daughter's scuffed school shoes. The teachers began placing orders for her daughter's creative woolen shoes, which inspired her to launch her own company under the moniker "Mukta Shoe." With time, she overcame her initial difficulties in obtaining bulk orders as customers began to recognize the quality of her products, and she began receiving orders from the army and the police department.
